In track and field events, there is a category called the all-round event. To win this event, one must possess outstanding skills in every sub-event. 

Our company also has such a person. His capabilities cover various fields including technology, market, business quotations, company management, and government communication, and his abilities are outstanding in all these areas. He is the executive vice general manager of Guangdong Nanhuaxi Electric Co., Ltd., known as the all-round talent of Nanhuaxi. His name is Xiang Huaping. 

Based on technology 

In 2008, after graduating from Tsinghua University, Wang joined Nanhuaxi and became a technician in the busbar division of Dongguan Company, responsible for measuring and other related work of busbars. Wang was not from an electrical major, but he quickly became a key technical force in the busbar division and was awarded the company's Outstanding Employee title in 2009. According to Wang, there is no shortcut to growth; it's all about learning, learning, and more learning. Delving into and exploring, again and again. Through continuous learning and exploration, Wang mastered various technical skills and capabilities for busbar measurement, installation, and renovation within a short period of time. 

Xiang once temporarily left the company and returned to Nanhuaxi in early 2012. He then took on the role of technical director of the busbar division, followed by being the deputy manager of the busbar division, and finally became the manager in 2014. During this period, Xiang completed the development of products such as aluminum alloy busbars, making a significant step in independent innovation. 

Expand into multi-skilled individuals 

Although Zhang Tong had established himself in a technical position after graduation, he did not want to be confined to the ivory tower of technology. In the words of Huawei's founder Ren Zhengfei, he wanted to go to the front line of the market 'to hear the sounds of gunfire' 

Therefore, at the end of 2010, Xiang once left the company and went outside to switch careers and engage in sales. Even after returning to the company in 2012 and taking on the position of technology and department manager, he still remained focused on the market. Not only did he fully assist the sales staff in closing deals, but he would also use his spare time to go out and make sales himself. It was precisely because Xiang's continuous attention and emphasis on the market that, during the period when the company focused its overall attention on the distribution box business, the company's busbar business still continued to develop. 

In early 2016, Xiang was transferred to the Shenzhen company to be responsible for the market support of the busbar trough business. Shortly after that, the business manager of the Installation Division went on maternity leave, and Xiang took on the responsibility of preparing the commercial quotations for the power distribution installation projects. 

However, whether it was market support or business quotations, Xiang was always able to smoothly take over and handle the tasks calmly, without any work stalling. This was mainly due to Xiang's regular research and accumulation, as well as his extensive exploration of various tasks. In fact, Xiang was not unfamiliar with the quotation work. During his time in the Busbar Division, Xiang often quoted prices himself. 

The boss said, 'Whether in life or at work, we must be prepared for opportunities. Only then can we seize them when they come.' 

An unforgettable experience of evidence collection 

In 2016, the state made the compulsory certification of fire protection products a requirement for market entry. Our company's fire pump control equipment, smoke exhaust and ventilation fans, dual power control equipment, and other related products are all subject to this compulsory certification. To obtain product certification, the first step is to send the products for inspection. The Fire Electronic Quality Inspection Center of the Shenyang Fire Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security is the only designated inspection institution. 

The so-called product inspection does not merely involve sending the products to the designated place and then leaving it at that. There is also the need for someone to be present to communicate and cooperate with the experiments. Who can undertake this task? Soon, the General Manager, who is both knowledgeable in technology and familiar with the market, became the ideal candidate. He was dispatched to Shenyang to handle the product inspection and take on all the product certification work. 

Along with Director Xiang, there was also the company's senior technician Liang Zhuohong. However, as soon as Mr. Liang arrived in Shenyang, he had to return to his hometown due to family reasons. Director Xiang immediately reported this situation to Director Wen, and Director Wen's reply was: Even if you go alone, you still need to handle the matter there. 

Upon receiving instructions from Mr. Wen, Zhang began to plan the subsequent work without hesitation. During the day, he went to the testing institute to communicate and coordinate the treatment. At night, he returned to the hotel to carefully study the drawings. After all, he had never worked with distribution boxes before, and the drawings were quite complex. He needed to call Engineer Liang and the company's technical director Shen Yongjun to study together in order to understand them clearly. 

I stayed in Shenyang for about a month. On the day of the experiment, at first I wasn't very familiar with the process. I had to do the experiment while also calling the company to seek advice. The leader in charge of the testing saw this and told Mr. Xiang, 'You don't understand this at all. Let someone else do it.' Because Mr. Xiang was always bringing them water every day, they actually became quite familiar. So Mr. Xiang said to him, 'It's just this one point that I'm not familiar with. Just call the company and ask them. Let him come back and check later.' 

That's it. The products sent for inspection by the company all passed the tests successfully and eventually obtained the Compulsory Certification for Fire Protection Products (CCCF) certificate, becoming the first batch of enterprises in Guangdong Province to obtain this certification. 

Just as Mr. Xiang himself said, no matter what difficulties there are, as long as the tasks are assigned by the leader, he will do his best to complete them. 

Towards the path of innovation 

In 2017, Xiang Zong was appointed as the assistant general manager of the Shenzhen company. In 2018, Xiang Zong returned to the Dongguan company and continued to hold the position of assistant general manager. In 2019, Xiang Zong was appointed as the deputy general manager of the Dongguan company, and in 2021, he officially took up the position of the executive deputy general manager of Guangdong Nanhua West Electrical Co., Ltd. 

During the period when Zhang was serving as the assistant general manager and deputy general manager, it was also a time when the company was making significant progress in transforming into a technology-based enterprise and upgrading its manufacturing. It was under the promotion and leadership of Zhang that the company achieved a series of innovative development results. The first was the acquisition of the 'National High-tech Enterprise' status. The company focused on internal improvement but did not pay much attention to the enterprise recognition process. It was under the proposal and leadership of Zhang that the company passed the recognition and ultimately obtained the 'National High-tech Enterprise' certificate. 

The next aspect is patent applications. The company has been established for over twenty years and has accumulated a large number of advanced processes and technologies, but none of them have been applied for patents. It was only with the strong promotion from the higher authorities that the company's patent awareness improved. Within a few years, it obtained dozens of patent certificates and software copyright certificates, and established a systematic intellectual property management system, which was certified by the intellectual property management system. The third aspect is the company's intelligent and digital transformation. Facing the future development trend of enterprise productivity, the higher authorities proposed the goals of production manufacturing automation and intelligence, and production management leanization and digitalization. The company fully implemented these goals and eliminated backward production capacity. It introduced intelligent production equipment such as laser cutting machines, robot bending, and robot welding, and launched an information and digital management system, making a significant step forward towards a new upgrade from a traditional factory to an intelligent and digital factory. 

Communicate with the government 

Government relations are an important part of an enterprise's external relations. In order to create a favorable external political environment and promote the survival and development of the enterprise, after returning to Dongguan from Shenzhen, the company began to comprehensively strengthen its contact and communication with local government departments, thereby obtaining a series of policy support and image benefits for the company. 

In 2020, Zhu Jun, the manager of the company's technology research and development department, was awarded the title of 'Labor Model' by Dongguan City; in 2021, the company was selected as a pilot enterprise for the 'Doubling Plan' in Dongguan City; in 2022, the company was included in the first batch of the 'Specialized, Skilled, Innovative and High-Quality' enterprise cultivation list of Dongguan City, and the Dongguan Smart Power Engineering Technology Research Center established by the company successfully passed the 'Dongguan Engineering Technology Research Center' accreditation; in 2023, the company was recognized as a 'Specialized, Skilled, Innovative and High-Quality' enterprise in Guangdong Province... 

Meanwhile, since 2020, leaders from various departments of Hongmei Town, the town's mayor, the town's party secretary, the director of the Dongguan Investment Promotion Bureau, the vice-chairman of the Dongguan Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and the deputy director of the Materials Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, among others, have successively visited the company for research. This has enabled the company's development to receive attention and support from all levels of government departments. Of course, one of the most significant supports was that the company successfully acquired an approximately 6,000-square-meter industrial plot next to Nanhuaxi Electrical Industrial Park to build a 20,000-square-meter nine-story research and production building. The project started construction in 2021 and became a major construction project in Dongguan in 2021. From obtaining the land to planning and construction, it was all handled by the company's top management. 

Future Work Plan 

Regarding the future development of the company, there are always many speculations. Specifically when it comes to one's own work, there are mainly three plans. 

First, in terms of company construction. The first step is to truly transform the R&D and production building into a digital, standardized and intelligent smart workshop; the second step is to renovate the dormitories and build a 17-story apartment-style dormitory building to provide employees with a comfortable living environment; the third step is to carry out the overall renovation of the old workshop and turn the Nanhua West Industrial Park into a modern smart park. 

Secondly, in terms of product improvement. Firstly, we need to enhance the product quality to truly reach the benchmark level of the industry; then, we should integrate intelligence into our company's products. Thirdly, in terms of personnel development. In the future, we should recruit doctoral and master's degree holders as management talents; the office staff should be supported by young college students; and the proportion of employees with secondary vocational school or above qualifications in the production workshop should reach over 60% within the next five years. At the same time, we should strive to ensure that the income of all employees reaches the top level of the industry, making everyone proud of working in *** and attracting people from outside to come and work here. 

Fourth, in terms of external public welfare. The company has carried out many educational public welfare activities, but mainly among some schools around President Wen. In the future, it is hoped that the company's educational public welfare efforts can extend to more distant schools, such as some schools that have previously provided a large number of talents to the company, as well as schools where the company will engage in school-enterprise cooperation in the future. It is hoped that some public welfare funds can be established in these schools. Others are continuously providing talents to the company, and it is also hoped that the company can offer some returns to them so that they can better cultivate talents for society.
