Through diligence and bravery, overcome difficulties and create a wonderful life.

——Recorded as Zhu Yunwei, the deputy general manager of Shenzhen Nanhua West Investment Group Co., Ltd.

————————————————————————————————————————————————

Life values diligence; diligence leads to progress. Life values courage; courage makes one strong. Diligence and courage have always been the core spirit of the Chinese nation. However, in fact, for each individual, it is already very rare to possess only one of these two qualities. But Zhu General has both of them. Looking at Zhu General's career and growth experiences, it is truly a story of inspiration. Diligence and courage are the two wings of Zhu General's life, helping him forge ahead all the way and writing a wonderful chapter of his life.

The wind arises from the earth and begins at the tip of a reed.

Zhu Zong did not have a good educational background. After graduating from a technical secondary school in 1999, he joined Nanhuaxi and worked in the workshop as a loader and assembler. Four months later, Zhu Zong applied to become a driver and eventually became one. Being a driver was already a decent job at that time and it was also a technical occupation. However, Zhu Zong was not satisfied with this. In 2001, Zhu Zong voluntarily gave up his driver position and applied to work as a salesperson for a subsidiary company of Nanhuaxi. Thus, he began his career in sales.

The job changes of a grassroots young employee were like the swaying of a leaf. At that time, they didn't attract much attention. But as the saying goes, 'The wind begins at the tip of a reed.' All the winds arise from unexpected places. At first, they gently swirl among the reed leaves, and eventually form a howling force that sweeps through the mountains and forests.

The fruits are fragrant, borne upon the branches of diligence.

Everything is difficult to start with. The beginning of Zhu's sales journey was even more challenging. There is a saying that goes, 'The master introduces you in, but the real learning lies within yourself.' The difficulty for Zhu was that there was no master to guide him in, and he had to figure it out all by himself.

Zhu General came to this subordinate company, which had just been established not long ago. It mainly handled the switch products of the State Power Electronics Corporation. At that time, there was only one general manager and one salesperson. The general manager was originally a university teacher and had no sales experience; the other salesperson was also young like Zhu General and also had no sales experience. Without any guidance from a teacher, without any mentoring from someone more experienced, and having never done sales before, and the company was a newly established one with no reputation. At this point, the only thing Zhu General could rely on was diligence. And Zhu General could truly be said to have demonstrated this diligence to the fullest.

Zhu General was responsible for the Dongguan and Huizhou areas. At that time, the most convenient means of transportation in these two places was motorcycle taxis. However, the starting fare for motorcycle taxis was 5 yuan, and Zhu General was generous, so he mainly relied on taking buses and walking at that time. But even under such circumstances, Zhu General still had at least four or five clients to visit every day. It can be said that except for sleeping, Zhu General was either on the way to visit clients or on the way back from visiting clients, and he also had to carry a heavy load of documents on his back. I remember one night after visiting clients and returning to the base, a colleague who was staying there saw a bloodstain on Zhu General's clothes and asked him if he was injured. Zhu General pulled his clothes open and found that the strap of his shoulder bag had caused a cut on his shoulder. However, due to being busy visiting clients, summarizing and thinking about how to respond to clients, Zhu General didn't even feel the pain at that time.

There was another occasion that left a particularly deep impression on General Zhu. He went to visit the chief engineer of the Dongguan Shilong Design Institute. They had agreed on a time, but due to taking several transfers on the way, it was clear that the time was running out. In the end, General Zhu had no choice but to grit his teeth and spend 20 yuan to take a motorcycle ride. However, suddenly it started raining heavily, and he was soaked to the skin. When he arrived at the Shilong Design Institute, General Zhu couldn't decide whether to go in or not. So he just stood at the door waiting, hoping to dry off a little before entering. He also called the client to inform him that he would be late. The client said that he would have a meeting later and asked General Zhu to come another day. General Zhu quickly said that he had already reached the ground floor, but his body was completely wet from the rain, and it wouldn't look good if he went up. The client was also very polite and came out to pick him up himself. The client asked General Zhu not to catch a cold. After entering the building, the client also found a towel for General Zhu and asked him to wipe himself. He also arranged for General Zhu to sit in the meeting room and hung his clothes up for him. This time, General Zhu was deeply moved by the client, and the client was also deeply moved by General Zhu. But after returning, General Zhu still caught a cold. Through continuous visits to clients and summarizing experiences, General Zhu gradually figured out some methods for doing sales. Seven months later, General Zhu finally got his first order in his sales career. Although the amount was not large, it was only 9,000 yuan, but it made General Zhu extremely excited inside.

After that, Mr. Zhu's client base continued to expand, and his business performance steadily rose and grew at an accelerated pace. By 2006, Mr. Zhu's clients had reached over one hundred, and there were over four hundred projects. His performance also accounted for half of the subordinate companies' total for two consecutive years. In 2008, Mr. Zhu was promoted to the position of manager of the subordinate company.

Rushing after the wind and chasing the sun, it stems from a heart full of courage.

In 2009, when the company's performance was booming, Mr. Zhu chose to leave the company and start his own business. This entrepreneurial venture made Mr. Zhu realize that he still had some shortcomings. In 2013, with a learning attitude, Mr. Zhu went to Boer Power and started as an agent. The following year, he was promoted to manager, and in the third year, he was promoted to the director of the Northwest Region. At Boer Power, Mr. Zhu met a valuable person in his life, namely Mr. Zhang, the sales president of Boer Power. Mr. Zhang came from Schneider and not only had solid sales theory knowledge but also solid sales practical experience. Although one was in the northwest and the other in Shanghai, Mr. Zhang often imparted knowledge and skills to Mr. Zhu through daily communication forms such as phone calls, benefiting Mr. Zhu a lot.

However, the northwest region is too far from Shenzhen. To take care of his family, Mr. Zhu left Boer in 2016. After seven years, he returned to Nanhuaxi and took on the position of deputy general manager of the Nanhuaxi Shenzhen company. He began to assemble a new sales force, which was named the Market II Department of Nanhuaxi. Under the nurturing efforts of Mr. Zhu, the current Market II Department has fully achieved the company's original expectations, which made Mr. Zhu extremely pleased.

The world belongs to the brave. Those who are not afraid have the path ahead of them. Zhu General started as a workshop worker and eventually entered the sales profession. He pursued and grew along the way, and eventually became a company executive. He led a group of equally passionate young salespeople to expand the territory in the market. Looking back on this journey, Zhu General himself said that it was all thanks to a spirit of single-minded bravery. Zhu General said that without this kind of courage, he probably wouldn't have made it this far.

There was a little story from a long time ago that might give us a glimpse of the indomitable spirit that was in Zhu's character. It happened when Zhu was just starting out in sales. Once, he went to visit a leader from Fenggang Power Supply Company. That leader was in a bad mood because of something, and when he saw Zhu enter, he immediately told Zhu to leave. But Zhu still had the nerve to hand him a business card. However, the leader simply tore the card into pieces and threw them into the trash can. Zhu was stunned at that moment, and eventually had to leave awkwardly. But just as he reached the door, Zhu's indomitable and stubborn spirit suddenly came back. He turned back to the leader and said: 'Leader, I know you are very angry, but this business card is mine. I have to pick it up.' Then Zhu went to the trash can and picked up the shredded business card. Maybe the leader later felt a bit embarrassed and finally handed over the project to Zhu, and the amount was quite large, accounting for nearly a quarter of Zhu's performance that year.

Courage is one's best friend. Just as Goethe said, courage contains genius, strength and magic.

Leading a team, it all boils down to the single word 'dedication'

Life is like a chess game. Mr. Zhu overcame the challenges with diligence and bravery, writing his own splendid life story. However, diligence and bravery cannot be the solution for leading a team. Therefore, Mr. Zhu offered another answer, which is the word 'dedication'. Just this spring has ended, Mr. Zhu promptly announced that the sales revenue of the second marketing department has exceeded one billion. Nevertheless, what makes the company even happier than the sales figures is the vigor and vitality that can be seen in all the salespeople of the second marketing department, as well as the impetus and drive that is like a fierce tiger charging down the mountain.

When it comes to leading a team, Mr. Zhu said that in the end, it boils down to just two words: dedication. How to do it? Mr. Zhu said, first of all, every new salesperson who joins the team must be guided by hand to sign one or two projects, and then be allowed to operate independently on their own.

Secondly, take the initiative to show concern, and actively ask the salesperson to gather information, follow up on the progress and offer assistance;

Thirdly, he treats the salespeople as if they were his own family members. Mr. Zhu said that since he returned to Nanhuaxi, he has become very talkative and constantly thinks about things. The salespeople in the marketing department are mostly new recruits in the sales field, and many of them even started their first jobs at Nanhuaxi. Mr. Zhu naturally became their mentor. Not only did he guide them step by step at work, but when they encountered any problems in life, they would always come to him for advice. Mr. Zhu had to frequently step in to help them coordinate and resolve issues. In many cases, it went beyond the scope of a mere leader.

Zhu said, 'Nanhua West is like a big family. The Marketing Department has perfectly demonstrated the company's family culture. Everyone who works in the company feels at home and is willing to grow together with the company.'
