On weekends at the office, the person I encountered the most was Peng Mengting, the vice president of sales in the marketing department. She usually accompanied her sister and her daughter, who was about four years old. Her sister helped her take care of the daughter while she herself sat at her desk, busy with work. Sometimes I would wonder, if I had also worked in a company for sixteen years, would I be able to maintain the same level of enthusiasm for my job as she did?

If Ms. Deng represents the typical character of a Hunan woman, then Ms. Peng bears the distinct mark of a Hakka woman. A typical and an atypical Hakka woman

In my impression, Hakka women generally have simple and plain dress styles and do not engage in excessive grooming. Their appearance gives off a sense of diligence and conscientiousness. However, President Peng is tall and has fashionable clothing. From this perspective, President Peng belongs to an atypical Hakka woman. But in terms of her personality and essence, she is a typical Hakka woman. She is elegant and reserved, sincere and passionate, gentle and virtuous, and resilient... All of these qualities align with all the expectations and imaginations people have for Hakka women. 

Let's start by talking about her grace. During the busy season, the company can sometimes be like a battlefield, especially for the colleagues in the marketing department, who are under great pressure from customers to deliver goods. They may get a little impatient and sometimes have some intense words when communicating with colleagues. But I have never seen President Peng lose her composure. No matter how urgent the situation is, President Peng always maintains her grace and calmness. She communicates with colleagues repeatedly and patiently, and eventually achieves good results. 

Now let's talk about her enthusiasm. President Peng's enthusiasm is not only reflected in her consistent work attitude over the past ten years, but also in her way of interacting with others. To give a specific example, in July this year, a female college student majoring in sales came to the company for an internship and was assigned to be mentored by President Peng. In terms of work, President Peng provided hands-on, unreserved guidance and instruction. That sincerity moved me, the outsider, and made me sigh with gratitude, realizing that I had never had such a mentor at work and a valuable person in my life. In terms of life, President Peng was also very caring. In early August, the company invited 30 teachers and students from Guizhou to participate in a one-week 'Mountainous Area Teachers and Students' Study Tour in Shenzhen' activity. The intern also accompanied them for a few days. For the first two days, President Peng had to call several times every day to inquire about their safety. Later, I simply reported to President Peng twice a day in the morning and evening. 

Let's talk about her kindness. Kindness seems to be a shining symbol adorning all Hakka women. American missionary Robert Smith said: 'Among all the women of any ethnic group I have encountered, the most admirable ones are the Hakka women.' And British scholar Edel put it more straightforwardly: 'Hakka women are the typical representatives of the most beautiful working women in China.' Of course, Peng also didn't stand out alone. On Peng, all the excellent qualities of Hakka women were embodied, such as their hard work, self-reliance, respect for their husbands, and filial piety towards their parents. For example, in terms of economy, Peng was completely self-reliant and self-sufficient; in terms of marriage, Peng always remained loyal and devoted to her husband, as Peng herself put it: 'When a woman chooses a man as her husband, it means he is her sole companion for this lifetime. When a husband is downhearted, he needs the wife to comfort him; when he is panicked and unsure, he needs the wife to soothe him; when he makes mistakes, he needs the wife's meticulous care and tolerance.' And in terms of respecting parents, Peng also completely inherited the fine traditions of Hakka women and the Chinese nation. In 2002, Peng's father suffered from heart disease and was in a critical condition. The relatives all thought there was no hope, but they didn't give up all hope. Eventually, with the help of the company boss and colleagues, Peng's father survived for another seven years. 

Finally, let's talk about her resilience. President Peng arrived in Shenzhen penniless in 1992. Although she worked very hard every day, it was only enough to sustain her basic living needs. Sometimes she even had to borrow money to make ends meet. She had very little hope for the future. Many people of her generation couldn't bear such hardship and hopelessness and left Shenzhen one after another. But President Peng, with the unique resilience of a Hakka girl, persisted. In 1999, President Peng joined South Huaxi Company and became a salesperson there. At that time, the company was just established and was still a small workshop. It had neither a brand nor economic strength. The business was extremely difficult to carry out. She rode a bicycle out every day and suffered the most from cold stares and contempt. But President Peng didn't give up. Instead, she continued to persist, facing the cold stares and contempt head-on. This persistence lasted for sixteen years. With this persistence, today, President Peng has become the backbone of the company, achieving success for both the company and herself. However, President Peng didn't stop there. Instead, she continued to move forward and strive, maintaining the same level of work enthusiasm and fighting spirit as before.

She is the most outstanding 'product' of the company.

The competition among enterprises ultimately boils down to the competition of services. President Peng has long understood this principle. Therefore, over the past decade, President Peng has always positioned herself as a customer service representative rather than a product salesperson. She is as agile as an eagle and as diligent as a bee, always seeking opportunities to provide all the services within her capabilities to the customers. As a result, many customers often tell President Peng, 'You are the best 'product' of Nanhuaxi Company. Such a wonderful person is hard to find even with a search light on.' Because of this, some of her clients, such as Jiamazhou, have also trusted to package some services that we do not have advantages in for us to provide.
